Melissa H Miller is a story teller, an only child and a quintessential Gemini.

An award-winning creative art director/designer with 18+ years experience in cleverly crafting visual materials for national brands, her strong background in editorial design unites with marketing agency experience to deliver outstanding multi-channeled content for high profile clients. She excels at concept development, communication, and technical design skills, with a unique drive to evoke emotions and tell stories through innovative visual treatments.

As Senior Art Director at Imagination, Melissa collaborated with cross-functional teams to understand client business needs and translate goals into strategic visual campaigns. She recently launched and designed a successful thought leadership publication for Staples called Worklife and directs related video and mobile media. She oversaw creative direction on Perspective, a publication of the International Interior Design Association which won her a coveted CMA Award and consistently receives national design acclaim. Melissa has spoken at multiple conferences and mentored other designers in design best practices.

At DC-based custom publishing company, McMurry/TMG (later Manifest), she was the creative lead on eight publications and multiple mobile apps. Clients included WebMD Magazine, the leading health publication in the US. and Jewish Woman Magazine, which consistently received design awards for typography. Hilton’s travel publication, GrandTimes benefited from her unique sense of style and her extensive international background. Melissa was also responsible for designing and launching Walmart's multi-lingual magazine,Your Health and Su Salud.

Prior to joining McMurry/TMG, Melissa managed all design and production for the American Association of Museums, including Museum News Magazine, annual reports, marketing materials and annual meeting large scale signage. At Kiplinger’s Finance Magazine, she used her superb conceptual communication skills to enhance complex business materials and collaborated with numerous photographers and illustrators.

In her spare time, Melissa contributes her design skills to a variety of causes close to her heart, including creating marketing and outreach materials for Common Good City Farm. She also continually broadens her skills with freelance projects for clients such as the Adaptation Fund, The Smithsonian National Zoo, and Freshfarm Markets.

She graduated with an MFA from George Washington University where she focused on the effects of color, space, and graphics on perception of information comprehension as it relates to one’s environment.
